COMBE DOWN RESIDENT
Death of the Rev. W. H. Lillie
The Rev. W. H. Lillie, who lived after his retirement at Greendown House, Combe Down, mBath, died on Saturday, after a very brief illness aged 81.
Mr. Lillie, eldest son of the Rev. William Lillie, was educated at St. Laurence's College, Ramsgate, and Queen's College, Cambridge.
He was ordained at Winchester.
After serving for many years in South Africa, Mr. Lillie returned to England in 1920, and became Vicar of Bramford, and afterwards Rector of Wetherin. Both parishes are in Suffolk.
In recent years, Mr. Lillie served as chaplain at St. Martin's Hospital, and frequently helped at surrounding churches, as well as in his own parish of Combe Down.
He leaves a widow, a son and a daughter.
