COMBE DOWN DEATH

Mr J. G. Doel, Formerly of Monkton Farleigh

Mr. John Gerrish Doel, of 1, Southstoke Road, Combe Down, Bath, died at his home on Saturday at the age of 72 years.

Mr. Doel was born on a farm near Rudge and started farming on his own when young.

He has lived at Southwick and Christian Malford. While at the latter place he often rode to
hounds.

About 30 years ago he became the tenant of Hill Farm, Monkton Farleigh where he remained until he went to Combe Down in 1941.

He was a former member of the Monkton Farleigh Parish Council. His wife died four years
ago, and he is survived by one son and three daughters.
