Obituary For Hubert Beckingsale

LOVED MONKTON COMBE

Funeral of Mr. Hubert Beckingsale

In the peaceful and old-world atmosphere of Monkton Combe, which he loved, Mr. Hubert Beckingsale, who died at the residence of his sister, Mrs. F. H. Pine, Combe Down, Bath, was laid to rest on Saturday.

Mr. Hubert Beckingsale was the younger brother of the late Mr. Horace Beckingsale, who was well known in Bath in connection with the Friendly Society Council and the Hearts of Oak Society. During the Great War he served in Mesopotamia, joining up the day after his experience of a raid on Hull. For the past few years he was employed by Garlick's, Ltd.,
men's outfitters, Castle Street, Bristol, where he had the esteem of the directors and the goodwill of his fellow assistants.

For 40 years he had been a member of the Hearts of Oak Society.

The Rev. E. Roberts conducted the service, and those present included: Mrs. E. Fullman (sister), London; Mr. F. H. Pine (brother-in-law); The Misses P. and E. Pine (nieces); Messrs. R. and L. Filer (nephews) Glasgow; Mr. L. S. Dicknis (director, Garlick's, Ltd.); Nurse L. Bendall, Mr. A. Ben- dall and Mr. R. Oliver (Bristol)..

Mrs. F. H. Pine and Miss Lena Pine were unable to attend.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. G. Mannings and Sons, of Claverton Down, Bath.
