Obituary For Grace Beatrice Riddle

LIVED LIFE TO SERVE OTHERS FUNERAL OF MRS. GEORGE CARTER OF COMBE DOWN

The death of Mrs. George Carter, 3, Isabella Place. Combe Down, on Sunday, Nov. 3rd, came as a relief those who knew the suffering she had so patiently endured for so many weeks

She was taken ill in May ot this year and. after a critical operation, made a good recovery, but a relapse set in from which she did not recover.

Mrs Carter was the only daughter; the late Mr. and Mrs. James Riddie, and had lived all her life on Combe Down, where her unselfish and noble character will ever be remembered, for she lived her life in the service of others.

She was a regular worshipper at the Parish Church, and loved to help in every sphere of parochial Christian life. She taught in the Sunday School since the early age of 12, and only resigned when the illness of her parents prevented her continuing.

Her lovable disposition and cheery presence will be greatly missed by all whose privilege it was to know her.

She was laid to rest on Thursday in Monkton Combe Churchyard.
