Obituary For Frederick Pearce

BATH RUGBY SUPPORTER

Death of Mr. Frederick Pearce

Bath Rugby Football Club has lost a keen supporter by the death of Mr. Frederick Pearce, of 7, The Firs, Combe Down, Bath. Mr. Pearce, since his retirement in 1923, consistently followed the fortunes of the Bath Rugby Club and was also interested in the welfare of Combe Down Rugby Club,

Mr. Pearce, who was 64 years of age, was for many years an official at the Poor-law Institution. He served with the Bath Company of North Somerset Yeomanry during the Great War. He was well-known and respected at Combe Down, where he was a member of the local Conservative Association. He leaves a widow and two sons, Mr. Eric Pearce and Mr. Tony Pearce.

The funeral took place on Wednesday, a service at Combe Down Parish Church preceding the interment at Monkton Combe.

THE FUNERAL. --

Combe Down Parish Church was filled on Wednesday at the funeral service.

The Rev W. G. Filleul officiated, and also conducted the graveside ceremony at Monkton Combe.

The family mourners were:-- Mrs. Pearce (widow), Eric and Tony (sons), Mr. and Mrs. W. Pearce (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. Sprewels and Mrs. F. Pearce (sisters), Mr. and Mrs. Cadwallader (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. Chinn (father and mother-in-law), and Mr. J, Lloyd (cousin).

Amongst the many friends at the church were: Mr. Alex White, Mr. Liddyard, Mr. Whatley, Mr. and Mrs. Carter. Mrs. Warren and Mrs. Ferris, Mr. and Mrs. Walters, Mrs. Williams,Mrs. G. Cadwallader, jun., Mr. A. C, Pavy. Mrs. West. Mr. Edgar Pearce,Mrs. and Miss Fletcher. Mr. Warren, Mr. Soden, Mr, Willeox, Mr. J. Whittaker, Misses Grist.

Messrs. G, Mannings & Son, of Combe Down, carried out the funeral arrangements.
