Obituary For Frank Harold Pine

BATH HOSPITAL SCHEME PIONEER

DEATH OF MR. FRANK PINE

A pioneer of the Bath Region Hospital Contributory Scheme, and a well-known figure in the business life of the city, Mr. Frank Harold Pine passed away at his home, 17, The Firs, Combe Down, on Friday, at the age of 65.

His death, which will be deplored by a wide circle of friends, follows a lengthy illness.

Mr. Pine was one of a small band of enthusiasts who, 20 years ago, under Friendly-Society auspices, launched the Hospital

"Box Scheme," of which he later became the chairman, He resigned this position in 1932, since when he had been vice- chairman,

He was also a member of the Management Board of the Bath. Royal United Hospital..

Among Mr. Pine's other public work was membership of Monkton Combe (Combe Down) Parish Council, of which he was chairman for two or three years.

In the days of the old Bath and Somerset Dairies, he was assistant manager, under Mr. Baylis Tucker, and afterwards was for a time manager of the Norton Dairies.

Subsequently he joined the administrative staff of Spear Bros. and Clark, Ltd., at Bath.

He was an amateur artist of considerable talent, and an enthusiastic photographer.

He is survived by a widow and four daughters.
