Obituary For Enid Patricia Whitaker
SCHOOLMATES' TRIBUTE
The Funeral of Little Enid Whitaker, Of Combe Down
The funeral of Enid Patricia Whitaker, the 12-years-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitaker, of Hampton View, Combe Down, Bath, took place on Saturday.
Enid, who had been an invalid for several years, died from complications attending her illness.
The first part of the service was at Holy Trinity Church, Combe Down, the Vicar, the Rev F. Last Bedwell, officiating.
Mr. Bishop was at the organ and the hymn "How sweet the name of Jesus sounds and "There's a friend for little children" as well as the 23rd Psalm, were
sung.
The interment followed at Monkton Combe in a beautifully flower-lined grave. The numerous floral tributes show the great sympathy and love Enid had won from her friends during her long illness, by her happy disposition.
Amongst them was a large cross of primroses gathered by the children of the Second Form of Combe Down Junior School, and a wreath from the Staff and Children of Combe Down Senior School.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. C. Mannings, of Combe Down.
