Obituary For Edward Palling Page
PARISH CLERK'S DEATH
Mr. E. P. Page, of Combe Down
Mr. Edward Palling Page, formerly clerk to the Monkton Combe Parish Council, passed away at his residence, Colworth, Combe Down, Bath, on Wednes-day.
Mr. Page, who was 76 years of age, was a native of Swindon.
He came to Combe Down in 1885, and took up a position as a collector of rates.
He became clerk to the Parish Council in 1894, an office he held until September of this year, when ill-health necessitated his retirement. Mr. Page was held in great esteem on Combe Down.
Mr. Page was Vicar's warden at the parish church for 25 years.
He took a keen interest in parochial affairs.
He leaves a widow and a married daughter, with whom much sympathy will be felt.
The funeral is today (Saturday).
A service will be held at the Combe Down Parish Church at 2.15, the interment following at
Monkton Combe Cemetery.
